PRASUTI TANTRA & STRI ROGA


        The Department of Prasuti Tantra and Stree Rogais a vital branch of Ayurvedic education and clinical practice, focusing on women's health and well-being through all stages of life. This department deals with two major disciplines:

  • Prasuti Tantra – the science of pregnancy, childbirth (obstetrics), and postpartum care.
  • Stree Roga – the study and management of gynecological disorders.

        At our Ayurved Mahavidyalaya & Rugnalaya, the department is committed to blending classical Ayurvedic wisdom with modern diagnostic techniques to ensure holistic care for women. Students receive comprehensive theoretical and clinical training in areas such as:

  • Antenatal and postnatal care
  • Menstrual disorders
  • Infertility and reproductive health
  • Menopausal care
  • Common gynecological conditions

        The department also conducts deliveries, minor gynecological procedures, and panchakarma therapies for women. Our well-equipped OPD and IPD, Minor OT and Mejor OT along with well-equipped labor rooms and specialized treatment sections, provide quality patient care and hands-on experience for students. Through regular academic activities, research, and community outreach programs, the department aims to preserve and promote the time-tested Ayurvedic principles in women’s healthcare.

" To create a platform for teaching, diagnosing and research activity in order to cater the needs of today's changing world and to develop awareness in special Ayurvedic treatment in Stree Roga Prasuti Tantra and Garbha Sanskar and role of Yoga in Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga. "

Future Plan

The Department of Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga is dedicated to advancing Ayurvedic education, research, and healthcare for women. With a vision to become a center of excellence in Ayurvedic Obstetrics and Gynecology, the department has outlined the following future plans:

1. Clinical Excellence

  • Expansion of OPD and IPD services with upgraded diagnostic and therapeutic facilities.
  • Establishment of a Specialty Women’s Clinic for managing infertility, menstrual disorders, PCOS, and menopausal issues through Ayurveda and integrative care.
  • Introduction of advanced Panchakarma protocols specific to women’s health.

2. Academic Development

  • To increase admission of PG (MD/MS), Ph.D. courses in Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga.
  • Organization of regular workshops, CME programs, webinars, and guest lectures by experts.
  • Development of digital learning resources, case studies, and clinical manuals for students.

3. Research and Publications

  • Promotion of clinical research projects in areas like Ayurvedic management of infertility, endometriosis, antenatal care, and postpartum rejuvenation and work on lactational insufficiency.
  • Encouragement of UG and PG research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Collaboration with national and international institutions for joint research activities.

4. Community Outreach

  • Conducting awareness camps, and women’s health check-up drives in rural and urban areas.
  • Development of IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials in local languages to spread awareness about Ayurvedic women’s health.

5. Infrastructure Development

  • Upgradation of labor room with modern monitoring tools and Ayurvedic birthing support.
  • Establishment of a “Garbhini Paricharya Unit” for comprehensive antenatal care based on Ayurvedic principles.
  • Set-up of a Museum and Model Room showcasing classical concepts and modern interpretations.

6. Collaboration and Innovation

  • Introduction of interdisciplinary clinics in collaboration with departments like Kaumarbhritya (Pediatrics), Rasashastra, and Panchakarma.
  • Development of innovative treatment modules for lifestyle-related gynecological disorders using Ayurveda.
