Introduction of Department

The Swasthavritta evam Yoga Department focuses on preventive and social aspects of Ayurveda. It teaches principles like Dinacharya, Ritucharya, Sadvritta, Yoga and Naturopathy for maintaining health. The department aims to promote holistic well-being and create awareness about healthy living.

Growth and Facilities:The Department has developed with a Yoga hall, Nutrition laboratory ,museum, Departmental library. Regular Yoga sessions, health camps and awareness programs are conducted to enhance students practical learning and community health awareness.

Academic and Clinical Focus:The Swasthavritta Evam Yoga Department emphasizes preventive health education and practical training in SWASTH RAKSHANA OPD. Students learn Dinacharya, Ritucharya, and Community health practices. The department also focuses on clinical application of Yoga and Naturopathy for promoting holistic health and disease prevention.

Academic Activities:The department conducts lectures, workshops, field visits, and Yoga sessions for students.. Students participate in community health surveys and research on preventive health and Yoga therapy. Every year the department celebrates International Yoga Day, Meditation Day, Surya Namaskar Day and Nutrition Week to promote holistic health awareness.

Department Mission

1. To improve the Health Status of the community by Developing the next generation of Ayurveda Professionals in the health sector.

2. To initiate to solve emerging complex challenges in the health care by Diet, Nutrition, Yoga Meditation, Counselling, Naturopathy, Health Advice etc.


Future Plan

1. Short Terms

1. To establish an Iyengar Yoga Unit equipped with standard yoga props and infrastructure by the end of 2026.
2. To develop special growth and development clinic .
3. To develop dedicated play area for children .

2. Long Terms

1. Early diagnosis of abnormal newborn & neurologically handicapped babies & early management of physical & mental health.
2. To conduct programmes, workshops and outreach activities focused on Yoga education and overseas propagation.

In today’s era, where lifestyle-related disorders are on the rise, our department strives to blend classical knowledge with modern scientific approaches, thereby nurturing healthy individuals and a healthier society. Our vision is not only to train students in academic excellence but also to inculcate in them the values of discipline, compassion, and responsibility towards community health. We encourage research, innovation, and community outreach programs eg. International Yoga Day, Meditation Day, Suryanamaskar Day, Nutrition Day, Addoptation of villages so that the principles of Swasthavritta and Yoga can be applied in day-to-day life for preventive, promotive, and curative health care of society. I take pride in the dedicated efforts of our faculty and students who continuously contribute to academic growth, research publications and social initiatives.
